Art Workshops for Adults

Simply click on the “Register” link beneath the course and pay by credit card (MC, VISA, Discover) on-line. For printed registration forms to mail (250 Court St., Reno, NV 89501)/fax (775-337-6107)/deliver in person, please see bottom of page.

Registration is only confirmed once VSA Nevada receives registration form and payment. Workshop costs includes all supplies unless noted. Classes are limited in size and are offered on a ‘first come first served” basis. Students needing to withdraw from a class after registering may receive a tuition refund less $5 administrative cost if VSA Nevada is notified five business days before the first session of class. No refunds thereafter. Scholarships and Gift Certificates available.

If you would like to provide a workshop for an adult or child who could not afford one… workshops/camps range in price from $40 – $250.

Join us for an evening of entertaining, stress free art instruction with a little bit of paint, a little bit of wine and a whole lot of fun! The best part? You will go home with an amazing painting and hopefully a new found interest.

Elizabeth Brooks guides you in transforming a Vincent Van Gogh painting into your own 16” X 20” acrylic masterpiece that is uniquely yours. Each piece will give students experiences learning different painting techniques. Paint Your Pet (6/20)

For 3 hours, learn our proven step by step technique using acrylic paint. You will be amazed with the power of simple painting techniques -- easy secrets that will amaze you and your friends! It's all about fun! 100% novice oriented, no-mess, for the enthusiast, artist, couples, and singles! Class is intended for you to RELAX, HAVE FUN, and leave with an AWESOME piece of artwork!

Independent Art Projects (July)

This class is designed to guide students who are at an intermediate level in drawing, watercolor or pastel. Students build on existing basic skills, practicing with a medium of their choice, while getting feedback from one of our experienced teaching artist. It’s perfect for students who have taken any introduction classes and want to move to the next level.

NEW!! Sketch, Sip and Snack with Elizabeth Brooks (July 2)

Learn sketching skills in a nurturing, social environment while snacking and sipping your favorite libation! Participants will be guided by Elizabeth Brooks in sketching from a still life while learning the basics of line, shape, and shading. This class is great for all levels and especially for anyone who wants to unlock their inner artist in a fun social setting. Bring your own wine/beverage and snacks! Must be 21 & over! Pottery Wheel Classes

This class is for those who want to experience clay; for beginners who want to expand their experience, or for those who are ready for a refresher. This class includes an introduction to the potter's wheel, focusing on wedging, shaping, trimming, and simple glazing techniques.

Pastels (J-A)

Soft chalk pastels and oil pastels will be taught in this drawing in color course. Color mixing techniques and theory will be explored within each project. Wet and dry techniques in each pastel will be taught. Students will develop their portfolio of finished compositions as well as a number of studies exploring the medium.

Plein Air Oil Painting

Join local artist Erik Holland to capture spring colors and light. Painting will be done both outside (weather permitting) and in the studio from photographs. Great for beginners or the more experienced.
