Bernard Mravak
Bernard began his art career by majoring in art in high school. During the summers he interned as a full time art student at Milton Roth Commercial Art Studio at West 45th and 6th Avenue, New York, NY. In 1948, in order to fulfill his military obligations, he entered the service, being honorable discharged after three years.
Following the service, he married and started raising his family; however, his continued need to be creative artistically and paint persisted. Working in a taxidermy studio, he became inspired and painted numerous animal backdrop shadow box paints and was able to sell these as well as seascapes and landscapes from his home.
Moving to Nevada in 1995, he met Marshall Owen, a well-known artist from Laguna beach, and became his student. Marshall co-founded the Laguna Artists and Craftsmen Guild and was active in the Laguna Art Festival. His one-on-one tutelage has motivated Bernard to refine and enhance his own style. Bernard has been painting full time for the last 10 years and is selling his paintings once again.
