Volunteers at Lake Mansion



VSA Nevada welcomes volunteers who love to learn new things, meet new people, and more importantly,  make a difference by using their knowledge and skills enriching others lives while enriching their own.  Opportunities are available for “one-time”, monthly or weekly commitments.

Volunteer Opportunities

Administrative Support…you provide much needed office and clerical support including word processing, preparing bulk and school mailings, distribution of printed materials,  research, special projects and more.

Lake Mansion  Tour are part of the “face” of VSA Nevada and need a welcoming personality.  Duties could include greeting individuals visitors to the Lake Mansion and leading groups of children and adults on a guided tour.  Training is provided.

Hands-on Art Support… you like children and they like you! Join us for our yearly “Youth Art Month Festival” in March and “The Lake Mansion Jingles with Art and History” for the holidays.  There may be additional opportunities throughout the year.

Hands-on Lake Mansion Support…you like cleaning and maintaining a histoirc mansion “Reno’s First Address” built in 1877 and listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places.

Exhibition Support…you like art and are part of  a team responsible for labeling and exhibiting artowrk in VSA Nevada’s “Art Access Gallery” and for special exhibits.

Hospitality, Event and Presentation Support… you like planning and assisting at VSA Nevada and Lake Mansion special events and fundraisers.  If you enjoy public speaking to individuals or a group you may “man” an exhibit booth or inform others about VSA Nevada and the Lake Mansion.

Internships…VSA Nevada and the Lake Mansion offer unpaid interships.  If you are interested in arts education, historic preservation, museum studies, or non-profit administration please send us your resume, your availability and area of interest.

Specialty Support… you have a talent that we could use!  Photographer, Handyman/woman, Carpenter, Electrician, Plumber, Heating/Air professional, Painter, Marketing, Information Technolgy and more.  The Lake Mansion and VSA nevada will put your talents to use.

Volunteering means being a part of a network of dedicated people willing to give their time, energy, and creativity to help bring the arts to everyone.
