Suggestions to Improve Access and Positive Interactions:
Ask clarifying questions throughout the conversation to ensure that the person is grasping the information provided. Repetition will be necessary.
Those with ADD tend to stay more focused when the information and modalities are presented in diverse ways.
When the person seems to be drifting away from the lesson, take a break before refocusing on the topic at hand. People with ADD have the most difficulty in situations which require prolonged periods of attention.
Important information may best be given in one-on-one situations.
