VSA arts of Nevada is pleased to present “A Native Soul’s Art.” Art has always been a part of Mack Nez Johnson Jr.’s life. “With all the pain, anger and happiness in my life, I’m still able to express what I feel.” After breaking his neck in a 1983 car accident making feeding and even breathing a challenge, “Art became the mechanism to catch me on those days I slip and fall.” Join Mack as he continues to share and discuss his unique perspective of his art as a gift and part of his Shoshone-Navajo descent.
The exhibit runs from July 1st to August 27th. A reception for the artist will be held at the Lake Mansion on July 31 from 4 pm to 6 pm.
The Lake Mansion is located at 250 Court Street on the corner of Arlington Ave. The exhibit and historic mansion is normally open the public Monday – Friday from 10 AM – 4 PM. There is no admission to the mansion or Mack’s show. www.vsanevada.org, 775-826-6100, ext. 3#.
